The Buckeye Belles Picnic meeting was combined with that of the Chix YL club (formerly the Chix on Six) as the majority of the Chix YL members, who are from the greater Cleveland, OH and surrounding counties, are also Belle members.
About a dozen ladies (plus their OMs) met at the home of Judy KC8BOM in Amherst, OH on Saturday August 24th. It was a potluck picnic and although Judy had an outdoor pool, the rain kept all of us away from it. In fact, some people who hadn't planned on getting wet, did get wet due to the torrential downpour that occurred that day.

We discussed several fundraising activities to raise money for the 2002 YLRL Convention which will be held in Ohio and will be sponsored by the Buckeye Belles. One item was the making of quilt. It was suggested that each YL will be given a 6x6in piece to work on. Currently, two ladies are working on making a quilt pattern of the Buckeye Belle logo. We also came up with suggestions for a t-shirt and I agreed to look into getting more of the Buckeye Belles pins.
Other items discussed included the upcoming November Sweepstakes activities as well as finalizing plans for the 2nd annual mini YL DXpedition to Kelleys Island.
